The only problem I had with the pump was that when I put oil in the pump and started using it the pump got very hot and shut off. The oil looked pretty cloudy and dirty so I decided to change the oil in the pump for clean, fresh oil. I ran the pump again after it cooled and it ran much quieter and didn't get as hot as the first time. I suspect there was a lot of dirt in the pump contaminating the oil even if it wasn't used the first time. Since then it's been working great. At first I thought my pump was defective, but it turned out that there was a lot of dirt in the pump which caused the pump to overheat and shut down. I would still recommend buying a pump though. He did an excellent job of removing moisture from the air conditioner after replacing the compressor, as well as the condenser and battery.
