I used this compressor tensioner on my 4Runner 3.4L and it made changing the timing belt easier as there was no A/C compressor bracket or timing belt tensioner to remove. Follow the instructions provided and do not overtighten the compressor. The hydraulic tensioner will drain fluid in seconds and if you tighten it too fast and too much you could break something. As you begin to tighten the nut on the tool, gently feel through the hole in the tensioner dust cover. with the supplied "pin". Take your time, pause for a few seconds when you feel the tension build up in the tool and you feel the tensioner holes align. Carefully insert the pin fully into the tensioner holes and loosen the nut on the bracket. Install the new timing belt and pull the pin on the tensioner.
