Like most counties, we have a leash obligation. Our dog is very well behaved and will just sit in our garden without running away but as we live next door and are required by law to keep him on a leash. PLUS we don't want him outside and the only thing that gets him out of our garden is the neighbors kids as he loves to play with them. Our dog also had a slight increase in separation anxiety. as he got older. When we are working in the garage or in the garden we want him to be with us (although he usually just sleeps in the garden in the sun). So we attach him to the back of our garage and attach him to a dog collar and he can roam the yard but he can't go outside. This keeps him safe and makes the area/county happy. We have 50ft and it suits our needs perfectly.
