Review on Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC310 4TB Hard Drive HUS726T4TALE6L4 by Stanislaw Siwak ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

At all. I looked for about six months what you can buy from 2TB disks. There is a choice, but assessments (reviews) and a guarantee for most options for 2 years - I would call it a mockery. Having narrowed down the search criteria to reliability + warranty + 7200rpm, I found that there are no really suitable options for practically a sane (if I may say so) price. The first candidate was WD Gold 2TB with a 5 year warranty as well. Posherstiv forums, I found out that WD Gold = WD HGST Ultrastar (ie this hard). After looking at how much 4TB cost - the difference for the volume is twice - about 2 thousand, I chose the 4TB option and chose Ultrastar - because it is slightly cheaper than Gold. But why is it cheaper than Gold? It is not clear, HGST is no less fancy brand (remnants of it). Recently found out a nuance. WD does not warrant ALL HGST drives. The shop that sold Which can lead to a little hassle and so on. It turns out that it seems like a WD drive, but it seems not - the position of the organization is disgusting to me. And many here complain about the WILD CRACK AND NOISE from hard. That he is hot and in general the fear of trouble, etc. I don't know where they have the disk. I have a Supressor F31. Silence. In complete silence, under load on the disk, you can barely hear the chirping, but it is not at all comparable, for example, with some annoying hum from a failing bearing. And the temperature is within the normal range, as it seems to me for such a disk.

Pros
  • Speed. On average, the read speed is about 200-250Mb / s. Write speed 200-220Mb/s. My 6 and 10 year old HDDs don't do that). Guarantee. 5 years is very fat for HDD and inspires confidence. The key factor was in the search and selection of HDD. Initially considered a series of Gold from WD and 2TB. Volume.
Cons
  • So far, they are not. Over time, I may add
