I needed a new paring knife and was looking at reviews on several knives. I couldn't be happier with the quality of this knife. It's everything others have said: well balanced, super sharp, stays sharp. I also have to say that the black handle version is by far the best choice. I think this is a newer version and an alternative to the matte silver pen. Most reviewers have criticized this pen for tarnishing. This pen doesn't have that problem, it's solid (no plastic) and has good texture for a secure grip. I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher anyway, but that's just to protect the blade. My only complaint is the size. It's a "super peeler" which means it's slightly larger than a regular peeler. Its longer blade makes it unwieldy to use as a parrer, but it's too short to be a full utility knife. I would recommend getting a regular saver and then a second knife for certain other tasks you have. These knives represent excellent value for money, so don't try to get one double-duty knife.
