Good idea but can’t push it down

I had a stand with wider base so I could stand on it and secure it in the ground. This item is sturdy and nice looking, but couldn’t figure out how to push it deep enough into the ground to secure it. Maybe hitting it w a mallet, bit I am not carrying one or those to the soccer fields… I decided to return and pay a bit more for one w wider stand /stakes .
