My Hobie Revolution kayak had a hull drain plug, and it was all the way back and near the tip. I wanted the drain plug to be on the bottom so the water can drain out as long as it's the right way up. This item was easy to install and includes a strong gasket, but I also added some silicone to ensure a good seal. My only issue with this item is that it sticks out more profile from the kayak than I would have liked and I wish there was more profile in the kayak but it works well either way. I'm happy with that and have added one each to the front and back of my kayak.
