I hand washed the bottles and let them air dry after unpacking. When I first filled the bottle to the 16 ounce mark, I went to another room to change for a workout. When I came back there was a puddle of water around the bottle. The location of the leak was unclear, but it didn't exceed the 12-ounce mark. I thought maybe it was just the pressure in the straw and put it in my exercise bike's bottle holder. I drank from it a few times while riding and when I finished there was water on the floor under the bottle and the water was dripping onto the bike. I've tried several times with different amounts of water, with the straw closed, and then even closed. Leaking EVERY time, even standing upright. The second did the same, so I threw them both in the trash. It seems like a water bottle that actually holds water is a pretty simple concept.
