Locks are simple tools that should do multiple jobs perfectly. So far this lock has kept my bike from being stolen so this is an indication of its reliability. For me it is important that the hanger opens and closes safely. In this case, OnGuard is perfect. I open and close my lock 10 times a day when I'm running errands, coming to work, etc. I've had other locks that were painful to open and close. This lock has a durable toggle switch and shackle that work cleanly. And when it sticks together, I just squirt some WD40 (as instructed in the owner's manual). In addition, each lock comes with 5 spare keys and a tag so you can order a replacement. You can tell these guys know their craft.
