My mower holds about 9 gallons (yes, 9 gallons) because it's a monster! It takes 20 minutes to fill the tank with the safety caps and I spill endless amounts of gas. These new safety grommets spill more during use, so I don't understand their purpose. The replacement spout was fitted to my current 5 gallon plastic gas jug along with the vent. I'm so happy. I can fill up a lawnmower in a minute without spilling gas. I leave the vent closed, put the nozzle in the mower, and then open the vent and happily hear "UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-UUUU UUUUUU-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-X Gasoline pours into the lawnmower. The product also comes with a screw cap on the end of the nozzle and I've had no trouble using it on my plastic gas jugs. Honestly, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made. (I even bought two!)
