Review on πŸ”Š Reizen 3 in 1 Talking Super Cube Clock: Empowering the Visually Impaired by Will Moorehead

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Great idea, but very bad execution. I'm sorry I bought it.

I bought this for my 99 year old aunt. She has very poor eyesight and very poor hearing. It has a different make/model of talking watch with a large light colored button at the top center. She likes it a lot, but (only) gives the time and not the day of the week or the date that she actually wanted. This charm watch does it, but as others have complained the buttons are very, very small for an elderly person to find and press. I colored the buttons and wrapped them in colored tape to make them easier to find by touch but still difficult to use compared to other brands. Another complaint is that despite what others say, it's not very loud at all for a hearing-impaired person. The other brand/model of talking clock is much louder with a better speaker that is much easier to understand. This article is based on a good idea, but like many products intended for the elderly, the actual design is suitable for younger people with excellent eyesight, dexterity and good hearing. Irren needs to go back to his engineering department and fix the engineering mistakes. I'm updating my rating and downgrading it to just one star. I understand that many products don't work for some people and work for others, but this one has another design flaw that makes it unusable and now sits on my desk like a paperweight. I was wondering why this product had a reset button and I've since found that it "freezes" at least once a week - it doesn't work at all until you press the reset button and then time and date again enter, which is a cumbersome process, and my 99-year-old aunt couldn't do it. Ask yourself: why is there a reset button on this device? The only reason is that the manufacturer is aware of the problem and added a reset button instead of fixing the error. Something like Microsoft's original answer to all Windows problems is a reboot and reboot. Shame about Ryzen. By the way, I've since found an excellent product with no design flaws at Revain, and my aunt likes it much better, which I'll cover separately (MaxiAids Talking Calendar Clock).
