Review on ✏️ Efficient Pencil Sharpener: Kum 107.02.01 Wood 2-Hole Steel Blade, Colors Vary by Amber Perez

Nice value sharpener from Kum - especially good for graphite pencils

First of all this was ordered to increase my grand total so I would be eligible for free shipping. On the other hand, I'm a HUGE fan of kum sharpeners. I have a growing collection of crayons, so I sharpen them VERY much. Wax and/or oil buildup on colored "leads" will dull the blades much faster than traditional graphite pencils, so inexpensive but effective pencil sharpeners must be found. I have bought and loved both the Kum Magnesium Ellipse sharpener, the Kum Magnesium Metal 1-Hole Steel Blade Sharpener from Revain, and the Kum Magnesium 2-Hole Sharpener from my local craft store. They are very durable and work well with all types of pens including soft pens like Prismacolor. Now about the WOOD version. It is very sweet. I have read reviews where customers complained that they received very poor quality sharpeners and this was NOT the case with the sharpener I received. On the other hand, I don't think it performs as well as Kum's all-metal sharpeners - I don't know if the lighter wood weight has anything to do with it. It sharpens my crayons (haven't tried it on ALL the brands I have yet) but I think metal pens do a better job. Lower RPMs and a cleaner cut with less waste. On the other hand, I bought a pair of Derwent water soluble graphite pencils, which turned out to be a bit thicker than most of my other pencils, but not so thick that I needed a bigger hole. The sharpener works quite well for these and other graphite pencils. I will probably use this wood sharpener with Derwents and other graphite pencils. I might not order this again simply because I prefer metal kums and there are also some other metal sharpeners I'd like to try.
