First, let me say I have other great GearWrench products. This does not apply to these circlip pliers. I bought these to remove a hard to reach snap ring on my John Deere 2305 driveshaft. I used the green corner bits for this removal. After successfully removing the retaining ring, I noticed that one of the tips looked slightly bent. When installing and reinstalling the snap ring, the same tip broke before I could put the ring back into the groove. I decided to try tips with a smaller angle and one of the tips broke immediately. The hex portion of the smaller tip fits into the ring hole, allowing me to install the ring. This locking ring is only about 1.5 inches in diameter and doesn't require much force to open.
