Review on Extra Yarn Mac Barnett Audiobook by Kelly Kaliyan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A well-told tale of friendship, social skills and school life

This contemporary fable conveys the moral that happiness - or whatever colors and textures make life worth living - never runs out when you are with it shares reject, but feels devastated when he is stolen or hoarded for himself. The book also celebrates a child's ability to change their world for the better. Despite the obvious lessons, Extra Yarn avoids tedium and didactics by simply telling readers a story rather than telling them what wisdom to extract. And illustrate the entire text brilliantly and beautifully with sparsely drawn figures and landscapes. . . and the pattern that little Annabelle is knitting to keep them all together and warm.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor pursuits
Cons
  • Annoying
