Review on Maple Wood Edge Grain Reversible Cutting Board by John Boos Block - 24x18x2.25 Inches by Rebecca Marie

Nice piece of wood

The cutting board looks great. It's very well done. You see the joints but you don't feel them. Like any natural wood, the board requires maintenance. It is very important to regularly use the mystery essential oil recommended by the manufacturer. In the beginning (first 3 weeks) preferably once a week, then once a month. The oil penetrates the wood surface and protects the fibres. The so-called board cream contains beeswax and other natural ingredients and seals the surface. First use the oil, let it dry overnight and apply cream the next evening – also let it dry overnight. Sounds like a lot of work, but it's actually only 5 minutes a week and later 5 minutes a month. Always apply it to both sides of the plank and the edge! Do not use dish soap or other harsh chemicals to clean the board. They strip the wood of its natural oils and destroy it. It is best to clean the board with mild soap and water. Do not leave anything damp or wet on the board for long periods of time. We have been using one of the Boss boards for over 5 years and it still looks brand new. Boss Boards, Oil and Cream are made and certified in the USA!
