Great product but if you are having trouble please read this first! I was wrong in the original rating!

Update: 04.05.19. I am upgrading this product from 1 star to 4 stars. Normally this would have been 5 stars but my problem was not explained in the instructions. Having problem with kernel_task using excessive power when it is connected? Is your laptop so incredibly slow that it eventually shuts down? Maybe you can't get ethernet to work either? Scroll to the last sentence to solve your problem if it's TL; DR. You probably double-checked and saw that you bought the Laptop Charge feature and it says it should be possible. However, the battery is slowly discharging, although it shows that it is being charged. Finally, your MacBook will restart. The reason is that this dock can't supply enough power from the WRONG USB-C port (the one with a Lightning icon and nothing else) to charge the Macbook and also provide all of its functionality. Promises in the description like Dual 4K @ 60Hz, Ethernet, USB, USB-C and more. Even a short 40Gb/s USB-C cable doesn't work. So it's slow to drain your battery and offers everything EXCEPT Ethernet and charging. The reason is that you put the power cord in the wrong slot like I did (hell!). Make sure you plug the USB-C power cord into the USB-C socket with the "Laptop" icon! There are two power symbols and one with power and a laptop. Use a powered one and a laptop. This will also solve your Ethernet problem. A real PEBKAC mistake that could have been avoided with better guidance and/or design.

Pros
  • New in my collection
Cons
  • Not everything fits
