Fast and Reliable: Networking Products

I bought my first pair a year ago. I am very satisfied with their performance and reliability. You never give me trouble. The connection speed is great. With my configuration I can achieve over 900 MBit/s in iperf3 benchmarks. I heard there was a connection problem in its firmware. When the first pair arrived I immediately flashed their firmware to 2.11.1.10.6200.1. I never see problems with this firmware version. To cover all the rooms of my house I only bought the 2nd pair. Adapters arrived with newer firmware 2.11.1.50.6200.7. They work great with old adapters. But I thought it would be a good idea to sync all my 4, so I emailed Actiontec a customer service request. They responded quickly with a new firmware 2.11.1.50.6200.727 and an accompanying installation guide. I was wrong here: since the Actiontec firmware sent to me has a higher number, I flashed all 4 of my ECB6200. It turns out that the new pair actually has a different hardware version. The old adapters worked fine with the latest firmware, but the new adapters were very unstable. So I contacted Actiontec again. They were very responsive. They understood the problem immediately and sent me 2.11.1.50.6200.7. Luckily, the couple was not walled in. After applying this version, they just rebounded.1. There are at least 2 different types of ECB6200. One with a hard cover on the back, hardware version 2A. The other has a vent cover, version 2C.2. Latest Hardware 2A firmware is 2.11.1.50.6200.727; Hardware The latest 2C firmware is 2.11.1.50.6200.73. You can send a service request to get the latest firmware.4. Actiontec customer service is responsive and professional. Overall I'm happy with my ECB6200s. The only downside, or shall we say a small problem, is that its latency is slightly higher than that of an Ethernet cable: 35 ms versus almost 0 ms for PING. I think that's acceptable.
