Review on 🚗 Dorman 924-305 Parking Brake Pedal Release Handle - Black, for Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC Models by Brandon Wong

Bought this parking brake cable to replace a cable on a 2006 Tahoe that broke at the end that attaches to the parking brake. This Dorman part is almost identical to the original except that the color of the handle is slightly lighter and the graphics painted on it are not as clear. I decided to reuse the old handle and attach a new cable to it. Needle nose pliers were used to remove the new cable from the handle. A drop of oil was placed on each end of the metal cable where it exits the vinyl cover and one drop on each of the metal crimps. Roll the cable back and forth a few times to ensure the oil gets into the cable. Hopefully this will reduce friction and make the new cable last longer. Installation took about 20 minutes. The hardest part was lying on your back with a flashlight in hand under the dashboard. A good LED spotlight would make the job easier. So far the new cable is working perfectly. A few dollars saved compared to buying an ACDelco part.
