Fits perfectly Suburban 2006

Fits perfectly. As others have said, reuse the original release handle, it's better quality and better looking. Simply press the plastic pins on the cable to release it from the grip and snap it onto the original grip. One final note: route the end of the cable to the brake with as few bends as possible, avoiding sharp corners that will result in premature cable breakage.

If your electronic brake ever breaks.

If your emergency brake ever breaks, this is definitely the way to go. The cable that releases my electronic brake broke while I was away from home around midnight. I was worried about how much a flatbed truck plus mechanic would cost me. I know between the two it will easily cost me $500+. Before calling a tow truck, I searched YouTube for the issue I was having and figured out how to disable the electronic brake so I could drive my car away without towing. Came home and was able to order this

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes

Good replacement part

Bought this parking brake cable to replace a cable on a 2006 Tahoe that broke at the end that attaches to the parking brake. This Dorman part is almost identical to the original except that the color of the handle is slightly lighter and the graphics painted on it are not as clear. I decided to reuse the old handle and attach a new cable to it. Needle nose pliers were used to remove the new cable from the handle. A drop of oil was placed on each end of the metal cable where it exits the vinylโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Doubtful

Installation was quick and easy, but that's due to the original GM design, not this particular manufacturer. 0.5mm thinner. I haven't pulled out and checked the calipers) than the original Delco part, but the cable itself seems to be of sufficient quality. I don't expect this to last as long as the original part (15 years and over 480,000 miles with very frequent use) but for the price I'll be happy if I live 7-10 years. but it really bothers me. The sticker is upside down and of course I onlyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great design

Working.: Parts

Okay, I hate that Revain doesn't list a country of origin. For you wondering, like most Dormans products, it's made in China. This product is a worthy replacement for the OEM grip that tends to break at the end of the cable. The Dorman product is almost identical to the original, even the markings on the back of the handle. I put this on a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500, the faceplate pattern is almost the same as my '05 Silverado but different from the Sierra. However, if this bothers you, you canโ€ฆ
