Mount Directly Into Studs

This new version is much better than the older 2 rail bypass system (I had bought and mounted the old one previously, and took down to mount this instead), but READ: do NOT mount this unless you’re going directly into studs. The wall anchors are horrible. You’ll be okay if your doors are small/light, but I mounted the 9 ft rail with 2 48 inch doors that added up to too much weight for the rail to support (although under the weight limit listed for the product). We used drilled custom holes in the rail to align with studs, and it works great. Finished product is perfect, but I cannot emphasize enough how laborious this was to install.

Pros

The hardware is very sturdy and made well. Looks wonderful on our custom doors.

Cons

The hardware brackets can be made out of weak materials, leading to damage from regular use
