Others have mentioned it. I want to strengthen it. This device emits a series of VERY LOUD noises each time a device (like your phone) is connected or disconnected. This happens when you leave the area, leave the house, return to the area/house or (and this is most important) RANDOMLY any time of the day. There are times when my phone is within 2ft of this receiver and the signal drops and then immediately connects. This is followed by 6 loud signals. It's annoying. You know what's really annoying? When it happens at 3am and the whole house wakes up. You can't just disconnect it from your phone either, as it will automatically reconnect later. You only have 3 options: 1) Forget the device on your phone 2) Turn off the receiver 3) Turn off your phone's Bluetooth All 3 options defeat the purpose of the device. And no, you cannot turn off the beeps. You can see for yourself by visiting the online quick start guide. Needless to say, I have buyer regrets.
