Review on Jackson Ultima SoftSkate Figure Skates: Premium Womens/Girls Ice Skates by John Rocha

I deduct one star because they were a little dirty on arrival (as seen in the picture) , but not bad enough to send them back. (I have a feeling they were a trial pair or a throwback as they've obviously been at least tried on.) Once tried on, they actually fit very well. I usually wear size 8.5/9 tennis shoes, so after preparing the review I bought a size 8. They fit perfectly even with thick socks. They're much more comfortable than rental skates, but I have big legs and thick ankles, so my tongue and sides barely close around my large calves. Also, I ordered longer laces since the ones that come with the kit don't tie to the top hook (they tie to the penultimate hook). They also dig into my right calf quite a bit, so I know they'll be uncomfortable to ride for any length of time, but I hope they come in handy. They also need to be sharpened. I'm a beginner and this is my first pair of skates I have.
