I was impressed by how easy these sensors were to install in a YoLink system, but the range was very disappointing. The excitement subsided after I put it in my mailbox, which is exactly 163 feet (feet) from the front door. I can see the mailbox through the front door, there are no obstacles between it and the house. After each night I noticed the sensor was disconnected and assumed it was draining the batteries, but as soon as I brought it back indoors it reconnected. I've tried it at different distances and it works fine as long as it's close to my house. I was very impressed with how quickly the tech support responded to my situation and even sent a new sensor for testing so we could find out if the other sensor was defective. Unfortunately, the new sensor was deactivated faster than the original one. I also noticed that the new sensor they sent me had different settings. These settings allow you to adjust the sensitivity of the sensor so that it doesn't alert every bird or bee. Yes, they are so sensitive. Unfortunately the company wanted to return their new sensor so I'm stuck with my outdated but recently purchased sensor. I assume there are many more old models out there, so it's a matter of luck which one you get. If the company really wanted to impress me they could say just keep the new sensor for your troubles, but I think I'll stick with the old model. I think that's today's market. Door sensors work great and can be customized to fit and work in a mailbox. However, you won't be a quarter mile away from those motion sensors. Even the rep said there are variables like doors and walls that block the signal. If you don't live in a house without walls and doors, you're out of luck.
