Great performance and easy setup

Bought for a former gaming system that I now use as a workstation in my home music studio for digital multitrack DAW recording. 802.11 port repeater to one of the ethernet ports which was very slow - <10Mbps down on a 50Mbps ATT connection using an ATT modem and a Netgear wireless router. Installed the Win10 drivers from the included minidisk, rebooted. Disable, save and turn off onboard Ethernet ports in BIOS. Install a wireless USB device via the internal USB 2.0 port on a dedicated USB expansion card in the system so that the device is installed inside the chassis. ) connected to the 5G radio on my Netgear router. Speakeasy shows it is now seeing >43Mbps Down, 8Mbps Up, which is a huge improvement and close to the service limit. I am happy. Note - read the manual. It clearly states that this receiver should only be installed via the USB ports on the computer's motherboard or an expansion card that will provide full power to the ports. Do not use an extension cord, or even the front connectors on the computer that go through the extension cord to the motherboard and have a lower voltage. Operating the receiver under the full USB voltage will cause the receiver's semiconductor components to fail. I think this could be the reason for many reports of units dying after a few months. RTFM.

Pros
