Review on Affordable Parts K181 Carburetor: Replace OEM 46 853 01-S / 46 053 03-S for Kohler 8HP K90 K91 K141 K160 K161 - Includes Gaskets by Jason Olguin

The carburetor was just the right fit for my Kohler K181 engine except for the throttle mod. Rebuilt, installed, filled with gas, switched off, started straight away, needle valves adjusted slightly, it has been running perfectly for 2 months. The next garden season will really tell a story. A modification to the choke lever was to use a hacksaw and metal file to trim/cut the lever so that it would not hit and interfere with the engine casting during normal movement of the choke rod and engine crank. The only downside is that now with the new modification of the carburetor and choke lever, the normal position (no choke) of the choke rod and crank of the engine is in the up position. To stop the engine with modifications, the engine throttle stem and handle are now lowered.
