I unpacked the oven and placed it on a piece of cardboard on my counter, took one of my very accurate digital cooking thermometers and set the oven to 80% heating surface. I was very pleased that the heater produced 120 degrees Fahrenheit at its highest setting. Installed under my small 5 gallon tank, it provides just the right amount of heat for the area my Brazilian rainbow boa needs. Even though the tank acts as a large heating diffuser, I was still able to get a 90 degree temperature at the inner bottom at snake height without turning the heating knob all the way down. This was confirmed with my digital thermometer placed on a level in the tank.
