It's actually easier to mount the whole piece it snaps onto, it's sort of a bezel for the vents. But don't be afraid to replace it. I have BMW experience and it took 45 minutes from start to finish. BE CAREFUL with the ribs in the vents. You'll be like Eddie on "Christmas Break" with a wooden machine when your fins break. But you can bring them back if that happens. The fit/finish is very good but not factory. But you will be the only one who sees it. We're talking about fractions of a millimeter from the factory. It's just a super visible place.
