Review on Hiltex 4 Inch Security Magnetic Extension by Dave Hess

Please understand I'm going to judge brands like Apex or Snap On pretty harshly compared to cheap brands because they charge a premium and I want to get what they cry for. Compared to other cheap brands, this Hiltex set is holding up quite well. I like them way better than the $10 32 trash set I bought at Drill-Hog. Handling was good. All bits are neatly and accurately processed. The Philips bits did not explode when I tested them by screwing in 2 x 4 screws, they did not deform or strip the screws with light use. I actually only bought them to get the box, which is pretty good, but I was happy with the set. I took out all the bits and put back the set I wanted, but I put in a surprising number of Hiltex bits as I couldn't find anything wrong with them. The metric hex bit set is very complete and I put most of these in another box with my hex bit set. I don't have the expectations of them that I would have of Apex, Wiha or Vega but CrV steel is underrated and as they are machined I should put them to good use before their line runs out and I will be replacing them . with something else from the closet. I would recommend it to any hobbyist or homeowner who needs the right tools but doesn't use them very intensively or on a daily basis. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a storage box. As the bits wear out, they can be replaced with higher quality tools when one is ready.
