Review on ๐Ÿ”ง HFP-382-U Installation Kit: Fuel Pump, Strainers & Efficient Setup by Adam Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality seems good but not quite what is advertised.

I bought this kit for a 1994 Toyota 4Runner 3.0. Please read it fully before judging based on my review: I gave this product four stars based on installation issues, not quality. The pump itself runs well (and quietly) and appears to be well made, the included connector is a larger diameter than the factory cable and the pigtail is long enough to leave plenty of slack. The kit is said to be compatible with a 1994 4Runner, but none of the pump filters that come with it will fit properly (NOTE: the seller will offer to send you a filter free of charge if the ones that come don't fit - I chose to purchase the correct filter to do the job lock immediately instead of waiting for delivery) and the rubber boot didn't fit snugly on the truck's pump mount - it sits slightly over the mount where the factory one fits snugly. I bought the correct strainer at my local parts store and secured the pump and housing with a pair of nylon zip ties. I also used heat shrink tubing over the connectors (I soldered a pigtail to the truck's wiring harness); The splice cover in the (hard-to-reach) tank seems adequate, and a few inches of heat shrink tubing or at least a few splice connectors should be included. I am very happy with this set and would order one. again, but I'd appreciate heat shrink and zip ties and a proper case (or more versatile). If it weren't for the landing issues, mainly with the trunk, I would give it five stars.
