Install a roller coaster, but done!

Well I did a little research on these things first. It looks like there is only one maker, but the box is stamped by different companies, so you're not paying $600. It's probably the same. I might be wrong. Here are some tips for installation and observation. 1) I saw a video on youtube how to exit the block in the back seat. Has the meaning. The video cable is already running to the front. Why not take a cable from the main unit and plug it into this thing and then connect the output that goes to the front monitor. Not correct! It most likely will not work here. While it will physically work and it makes NO sense that doing it the way they describe it could make a difference, it really does. You will most likely see the screen flicker, or in my case it will light up for a second and then turn off for a second. Again and again. I was SURE I had a bad connection or device. I emailed the support around 3am China time and they actually replied around 12 hours later telling me not to put the device on the back. I was skeptical so I removed the monitor and just ran the cable through the machine and of course it worked! So now let's bury the wire. BTW, just before I hit the browse button, I see here in the description that it says NOT to put it in the back seat, but the questions say you can on some models. So there is an inconsistency here. 2) It was very difficult for me to insert the i3 connector into their port. I tried not to force myself. The first time I broke off a tiny piece of the i3 lever, so I don't recommend using it to close the connection. Click the link without using the lever and close the lever when you are almost connected. Since I opened and closed this thing 3 times, I made sure none of the pins were bent. But by far the most troubling part of the project. 3) When routing a long cable from the rear seat, it is recommended to route it through a hole in the bulkhead. This is a very large hole, but the metal feels sharp to the touch, so I recommend taking an old pipe, cutting it lengthwise and slipping it over the edge of this cut so the wire doesn't rub against the metal. 4) The panel with 6 clips was a kind of clutter removal. A piece of plastic holding one of the 6 clamps came loose. All clips remained attached to the car. The video looks like you are prying up the panel. You need to lift the outside long edge, but the staples enter the machine at a 90 degree angle. I would love to take photos but basically lift the leading edge but then go in and slide the panel away from you. Towards the center of the vehicle, not upwards. You'll see this immediately when the panel is off. Removing the clips was a little tricky. Two opposite screwdrivers worked well. 5) The screw covers on the top of the monitor will no doubt be cut if you try to pry them off. You need a sharp knife to get in there and you'll probably cut them anyway. But the same caps are used for the 6 screws in the glove box which are much easier to loosen. So when you put it all together, look for two that aren't cut into the top of the monitor. 6) The entire glove box wiring scene is a mess. It is difficult to know exactly where everything will live well. They recommend lowering the antenna into another sharp hole and fixing it from below. But look underneath and you'll see two wing nuts lowering the fuse box down. So be careful when routing this way. You want to prevent the wires from touching the functionality of the glove box and also be able to remove the fuse box cover. 7) I may not have followed the instructions but I fitted the long door panel first and then the rear quarter panel that fits inside. This part should come in FIRST and then the long panel 8) When the video asks you to disconnect the high voltage connector they show a different connector than I have in my 2017 i3. Mine has a little red tip. Gently lift it all the way up and then wiggle the whole thing and it should release and stay in the released position (it won't fall apart). His connection is a bit mysterious. There's a long tab on one side that needs to be pulled outwards, and even then it seems like something else is holding it. But just keep wiggling that tab and eventually it will snap back into place. Then just click the red "flag" down and you're done. 9) When removing the washer fluid neck a very fragile o-ring was found which flew out when I removed the neck. I managed to find it and put it back in the neck where I can reinstall it. Much luck! It's not difficult, but you really have to commit to it, so it might not be for everyone. The device works perfectly and the 12 hour customer support was great!
