Easy update; Google Maps! iTunes!

Easy installation. The instructions were clear and there are several videos online which helped provide more details. The Road Top rep answered all of my questions quickly. It's great that I can use Google Maps and iTunes through my system. Works very well and I can easily switch back and forth with the iDrive system. Thank you RoadTop!

Good but: Car electronics

Works well but I had a problem after installation. My comfort access works intermittently and the car does not recognize the presence of a key fob. To recognize it, you must hold the key fob next to the steering column. Maybe there are glitches? I installed it under system cd. Unless I moved the antenna or something else that recognizes the key fob.

A must have for any 2014 BMW - 17 i3 owner.

Pretty easy if you've installed car stereos before. There is a Bimmertech video on Youtube that walks you through it. I highly recommend it as a guide to removing the parts required to mount and connect the device to the screen. Unfortunately, at the time I installed mine, there was no step-by-step process from the actual vendor. The wireless carplay is a bit inconsistent due to the automatic launch, but I suspect it's an issue with the carplay software itself rather than the device. Fast…

Works like clockwork - worth the money

I have a 2015 BMWi3 Rex with the navigation pack ie a large center screen. I didn't like that I had to pay for maps and traffic info and that there wasn't much room in the car to keep my iPhone somewhere in the front all the time. This thing solves that problem - the video explains the installation steps in enough detail and I installed it in less than half a day. I had some audio issues after installation but found I had to disable the old Bluetooth connection to my device and also set the AUX

Works great

Works great in my 2014 I3 Rex with Pro Navigation and Harmon Kardon system. Smoother than expected, CarPlay opens automatically when I turn on the car and also toggles back and forth to the OEM rear camera. The only difficulty with the installation was disconnecting some of the inputs from the BMW head unit, the plastic tips are easy to break. They had to be removed before disconnecting the main wiring harness because they got in the way. I recommend buying felt tape. It's worth using where the

Install a roller coaster, but done!

Well I did a little research on these things first. It looks like there is only one maker, but the box is stamped by different companies, so you're not paying $600. It's probably the same. I might be wrong. Here are some tips for installation and observation. 1) I saw a video on youtube how to exit the block in the back seat. Has the meaning. The video cable is already running to the front. Why not take a cable from the main unit and plug it into this thing and then connect the output that goes

Pros
  • Car video
Cons
  • Little things

EDIT: I was able to get the updated firmware and install it on my RoadTop unit. It runs buttery smooth and all previous issues have been fixed. The device will now automatically connect to a paired device instead of asking for confirmation via the central iDrive button. Scrolling through apps is now smoother. Everything works and works much faster. I can only hope that the Road Top team will continue to support it as Carplay/Android Auto and their respective operating systems evolve over time…
