I've stopped using Bottle Bacteria altogether as I haven't noticed any difference compared to cycling in a new tank with and without Bottle Bacteria. Although this time I decided to give it one last try, albeit not a new tank. I had to buy a new filter as one of mine also stopped working (and I plan to use it on another tank) assuming it would be ok to completely replace the filter including the media, which I did. That's when I decided to try this product and it seems to help not restarting the tank cycle. It took several days for my tank to return to a safe and cloud-free state. This is a 3 filter pool (2 hot plate and 1 large sponge filter). I have goldfish here and the tank is very clean. I use water polishing pads to keep the water looking nearly particle free (no suspended particles are visible in the water). test with. I like that it doesn't do the "safe one day, back to normal the next" thing that a lot of other cheap brands do. You should try this, especially if you are concerned about disrupting your tank cycle with your installed tank. I put this (I use a syringe for everything to measure accurately) in my filter, not in open water. After all, the good bacteria will spread elsewhere anyway, so I'll do that. This bottle is worn out, you can poke a tiny hole and use it to pour into the included measuring cup (similar to the tiny cups that come with cold medicine).
