Review on SRAM Rear Derailleur Black Long by Jose Cruz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overall this is a good switch

This was a replacement for an identical switch that was in my 2011 Trek Ticket Exchanger. It's funny how flicking a switch on the edge of an aluminum podium can ruin everything. ;) I'm going down the old pros and cons route, cons first: Cons: * Actually only one: All adjustment screws (upper/lower limit and b setting) have a small sharp "point". for any reason. In the case of b-adjust, the tip actually bites/bites into the switch body, right on the edge of the edge, and at the end, with some pressure etc, the switch body can jump between two points (end and end), your switch short - and completely destroy in the long term, breaking the metal edge of the switch body and destroying the whole unit. I highly recommend when you get this new one that you remove the adjustment screw b and use a hacksaw/file/etc to just remove that little sharp point from the screw to avoid this. This allows the screw to fit snugly against the metal body of the device. Other than the above, I'm happy with this switch. Pros: * Performance: Shifts well, no complaints here. It's pretty crisp, no sloppiness and no slip so far* price! I like it because I break things a lot as I mostly freestyle on or around concrete which doesn't forgive switches (or anything). MSRP is $26.
