Review on LG 43UN700-B: 4K Display with Type C Inputs, Tilt Adjustment, HDR, Built-In Speakers by Charlie Fabijan

Very efficient work monitor

I bought it to improve my work from home. I had two 24" Dell monitors installed but was frustrated by the height limitation when I had large spreadsheets or jobs. Also, there was an annoying center where two monitors met, which wasn't very convenient. This solved the problem. takes a bit of getting used to as it really is a monster - there's a lot of real estate to work with. I don't play so I can't talk about it. The color seems good right away and I like the brightness. My only issue right now is that while the bezel looks narrow, it's a bit deceptive as the image doesn't start at the edge of the screen. There is nothing around the 1/8 inch screen. They're either playing games that try to pretend they have a very thin bezel, or they just have an issue with the design of the panel they're using. It just looks weird that the image doesn't reach the edges of the screen. A few months and it's still working fine. I have two suggestions for LG. The toggle at the bottom of the screen is just awful. This monitor is so large that I think many, like me, will align the monitor (I use a wall mount) with the top of the table for a more even screen display. Of course then I can't access it without lifting the screen and I have to use the remote control. NOR would have been better. Second, they give us the ability to automatically detect signals for switching inputs. I have multiple computers connected to it, but not all at the same time, and it's really tiresome having to use the remote every time. Now I'm addicted to the remote control that can break or boot up the screen every time. A few thoughts for you LG if you're listening. I see myself upgrading again in a few years but next time it will be a similar sized monitor with the same aspect ratio but curved. One more note. The screen is too big for my wife so we solved this problem simply by increasing the height of the windows taskbar under her profile and now life is good.
