Review on Westar EM 2827 Engine Mount by Chris Graves

Cheap solution to an annoying problem

I have an SC2 and have driven 400,000 km since the release. This will be my third engine mount. The first was torn apart, the second - "gloomy" support from Saturn, which did not fall apart, but settled and transmitted a large vibration to the car in the range of 2-3 thousand revolutions and at idle. He seemed pretty solid. The motor didn't wobble back and forth, but you should measure the air gap in it to see if it failed and failed. (about 2mm) It's not a crooked mount, it's solid with relatively softer damping material and more steel in the frame than my previous one. The workmanship is terrible; uneven seams, punching. etc. It's not even symmetrical. But it fitted perfectly and made a big difference in the smoothness of the car. At this price I'm perfectly happy to accept the crappy build quality for something I don't watch anyway. The sticker on the part showed it was made in India. Many years ago I already installed the longer motor mount bolts required for the Frowny mount, so I don't know if the original bolts from the first version of the mount are long enough to use. this mount if you still have it. If you do need them they are not expensive and easy to replace (cheap advice). With a block of wood you can jack up the engine to replace using your own jack. All you need is a socket wrench, 15mm hole depth. and a piece of wood ) Check out RichPin on YouTube; fantastic and easy to understand videos on maintaining the saturn in a variety of ways, as well as a video on how to replace that bracket for you to preview.
