Advantages: 1. These brackets are made of thick metal and are durable.2. The brackets are covered with thick rubber material to avoid scratching the bike.3. Bikes look beautiful on these mounts. Cons: 1. Brackets are screwed to the wall through three V-shaped holes. The distance between the top two holes (center to center) is approximately 1 3/16", which is just under 1.5" the thickness of the 2x4 bolt. Therefore it is very difficult to attach the bracket to a typical wall bar as the holes are too far apart. I decided to drill a new hole between the top holes and I used two strong wood screws to attach them which worked fine.2. This way of hanging bikes on the wall works well for light road bikes, but not mountain bikes. My full suspension mountain bike won't hang flat against the wall because the front end is too heavy. I had to find a way to support the front wheel to hang this bike. Overall Impression: I would recommend these mounts if you're willing to make some modifications to get them working.
