Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice Arctic 195/60 R15 88T winter by Micha Jelonek ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, not disappointed.

Tire change 205/55 R16, skated the 2022/2022 season on tires. Car Skoda Superb Combi 2.0 (200 l/s). Operation from November to April, 60% city, 40% highway. Rubber is not bad for its price (I took about 5,000 per cylinder) Good performance on snow (acceleration / braking on hard 4-5), on ice / ice (similarly), on asphalt is also the norm, but provided that the frost is not strong, at -20 or more, the braking distance increases, you need to be more careful. At the beginning of operation there was noise from the tires, but after running in (about 300 km) it passed and the acoustic performance improved. Driving a car at speeds up to 100 km/h is good, up to 130 km/h - satisfactory, after 130 km/h - it's better not to drive like that, the car "floats" on the road, rebuilding is given with great difficulty, although at 90 km/h - everything is fine, a little worse than in summer (yes, the difference of> 40 km / h is great, I don’t argue, but already at 100-110 km / h it’s better to drive calmly in a straight line, without jerking along the road). Rubber does not like the track, and the car "talks" mercilessly in it. Roads in the Hong Kong region, to put it mildly, are "not very", however, no hernias were noticed, balancing did not cause problems throughout the entire period of operation. After the winter, 5-6 spikes were missing (probably the tires are not very suitable for a car with normal acceleration, otherwise there will be frequent slippage, like mine). Summing up, we can say that rubber is more suitable for those who live outside the city, or in a poorly cleaned city, because. with clean asphalt, there are better options on the market (including Velcro), and it drives calmly, without jerks, lane changes, overtaking and any "sharp" actions on the road. However, if you consider the cost, then this option will suit many drivers who fit into the above conditions.

Pros
  • Confident driving on snow / slush, braking on snow and ice. Pretty quiet compared to competitors, high price / quality ratio.
Cons
  • Medium quality studding, directional stability at speeds over 100 km/h
