Better than WiFi repeater but speed not as good as expected

TL;DR: Works better than a WiFi repeater or bridge. However, the speed is not as good as I had hoped. Situation: I have an annoying bug: a wireless router at one end of the house and my office (and bedroom) at the other. The wifi repeater I used (tried several) worked fine and sometimes dropped the connection. I also have aluminum wiring in most parts of the house that have not been upgraded. Pros: * Connection was easy. Plug them in, run the app on one side and press this button on the other. Did! I bought 4 devices and also added them by serial number - easy. * 2 weeks, no connection problems. I just wish they could plug directly into the UPS and not an outlet. Until I get whole house electric walls installed, the current here can be erratic and I'm afraid of shorting them out. * I have 2 kids who play this game all the time. Seriously, the day before I put them on, my eldest son would come up to me every few hours and reset the connections on his PS4. Now they both have a power line in their room and can play all day without any lags or problems. *I was very surprised that this works on various circuits and aluminum wiring. I understand the house wiring is the problem, but one pair is on new copper wire. I get an average of 40% of expected speed on copper wire and 20% on aluminum wire. Both the wireless router and wireless access point support 2 eth trunks, and the speed is the same. * the previously mentioned direct connection and power supply issue. I hope they have basic surge protection. Overall: I am very impressed that they solve my main network problems. The connections could be better, but I understand the wiring in my house may be part of the problem. I like that I have installed a power line for each child and there is no obvious degradation in service in my office and communication has improved for everyone now.
