I'm very picky about getting eggs in a certain way for certain purposes. The consistency of the yolk, from runny to jelly-like or dry, is important for a variety of purposes. I used to have to be a slave to the clock and water temperature. This little built in readiness indicator is absolutely amazing and very accurate. I am free! I have now tried it on all turn signals and was very satisfied. The slicer itself does a good job of slicing eggs, but more importantly, it gives you comfortable surfaces to manipulate so you can do it repeatedly and quickly without fiddling with it on the countertop. The wire part simply slides out of the hinged part and is easy to clean with a sponge or brush under the tap. It's really a great deal between them.
