The clamps are too big for the wedges!

I have used a simple set of alignment clamps with wedges and tools on several jobs. They work fine. I keep coming back for more, don't I?! These clips in particular don't work as well as others, at least on thinner tiles. The main issue here is the space in these clips where the insertion of the wedges is larger than any other I've used. A 6" x 24" wood tile is thinner than 5/16" or so for this job. When you install and tighten the wedge, it pushes the wedge to its highest point. I know there would be more pressure , if there was more space. Another disadvantage of this is that when the wedge is pushed to the maximum, the wedge exerts almost no pressure on the surface of one tile and weighs a ton on the adjacent tile. Get my drift? If this one If the spacing in these clips were just 1-2mm shorter there wouldn't be a problem. Besides! these work fine. These clips, along with all the other cheap all in one leveling systems available online (they will all probably be found in made in the same factory) make tiling a little easier. They're not that strong. When you really need to level a large tile, they often don't have enough strength to take it off and you resort to removing the tile and the joint layer on customize the old fashioned way. Very helpful for the price! They broke off under the tiles as they usually should. The only time they don't is when too much solution seeps around them (which is a fixed bug). In these situations, I use a cordless multi-tool and a carbide jointing blade to pry out the joint compound and remaining plastic staples, which only takes about 5 seconds for each spot. I probably had 10 of these in the photo. So. 3 to 4 stars because they could be better. But actually this system works very well for its price.
