It will do to your viewing pleasure what a stale hamburger will do to your hunger.

This player plays DVDs and Blu-rays, but it's like watching a show on TV without controlling what's happening. For example, this player does not have a zoom function. Image quality controls are provided in increments of four. Whether you want to control contrast, color, brightness or sharpness, you only have 4 settings for each function, leaving you stuck with 25% increments per function. The reverse function sometimes doesn't work at all, but when it does, it skips a lot. The same thing happens when you try to move forward slowly. If you want to repeat a short passage, what I would call a Blu-ray player from hell awaits you. You have to press about 6 different function keys to repeat the segment. The only way to know where you are on the disc is to skip ahead a chapter, after which the screen will show which chapter you've jumped to. At the bottom of the miniature remote control there are four buttons of different colors: red, blue, yellow, green. They are fully functional in the sense that they are spring loaded (or bent). So you can click on them if you want and daydream about what effect they could have if they were actually electrically connected to something. After giving this turntable a decent trial period I decided that in the interests of my mental stability it would be best to take it to the garage and give it a good bang with a 10 pound sledgehammer. I've found this to be a good way to increase the lifespan of all kinds of crappy food. By the way, the red, blue, green, and yellow buttons on the remote were NOT actually electrically connected to anything. They perform absolutely no function, and pressing on them for the sheer joy of pressing buttons gets boring very quickly.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Boring packaging
