Wears out quicker than I expected, easy to use, great value for money.

Update: I got out my whetstone to sharpen my kitchen knife for the second time. And the whetstone wears out MUCH quicker than I thought. The stone is very soft and brittle. I expected this to last for years (like my last one). All the scratches, chips, dents and dents you can see in my photos. Yes, a correction stone is included. But I didn't know that this sharpening stone requires maintenance after EVERY use. Speaking of the correction stone, I didn't test it the first time. The correction stone has these weird brown spots and was already chipped before I used it. However, the non-slip rubber underside also wears out. As you can see in the picture, the small stain has already disappeared and the corner has started to peel off. At this price I'll have to buy another one in a year or so. There is also the maximum sharpness you can get from this sharpening stone. I was hoping to sharpen my kitchen knife even more so it could cut onions with ease. But no matter how long I sharpen it, the knife seems to get a certain sharpness. I can easily chop tomatoes, but onions take a little more effort. I still can't believe the stone wears out so quickly.__________ The double-sided sharpening stone works very well. I use it as a universal stone for sharpening knives. I mainly use it to sharpen kitchen knives, but I also use it for a pocket knife and it works really well too. The sharpening stone is large enough for my kitchen grinder. My old sharpening stone doesn't have a base or non-slip backing, so I have to use a damp towel to keep it in place (which doesn't work so well). A non-slip surface is therefore a must! The wooden base looks very nice and the non-slip bottom works very well (which is the most important thing for me). I am very happy with this purchase. The stone is quality. 1000/6000 is all you really need for everyday use in the kitchen. First I use the 1000# side and then the 6000# side to smooth the edges. After sharpening my kitchen chopper, I was able to slice and dice the tomatoes without crushing them. Good value for money.
