The gas cap was put on and closed normally. Worked on 2 gas tank fillings. On my 3rd fill up the gas cap just twisted open and I couldn't remove the gas cap to fill my car with fuel. Luckily there was still some gas in my car. At home I used a flathead screwdriver and carefully pryed open the gas cap. Then, with the help of pliers, I unscrewed the rest of the gas cap. I replaced the locking gas cap with the original non-locking gas cap. I wish this gas cap would work, but it's junk and could leave me stranded. With gas prices so high, I hoped to protect my fuel from possible theft. But now that you see how easy it is to beat it, there is no point in spending your money on this product.
