I purchased this product to connect a wired device to a hotel network that only has wireless connectivity. The hotel has Wi-Fi 2.4G and 5.8G. The network password is not needed, and there are 3-4 signal bars on my phone and laptop. No network entry, just an open Wi-Fi network. The setup process for this device seems simple, but once complete, the extender never connects to the Wi-Fi network. I've tried changing the physical location and rebooting the device multiple times to try the setup again. It just doesn't work. Save yourself the frustration and use a branded extension cord. I chose this because it was the only Revain extender that had overnight delivery. This turned out to be an error. At least I can return it. Also, technical support is only available via email and lasts 24 hours. There are no downloads or technical details on the manufacturer's website.
