In Florida, we get a few mornings and evenings in the fall and winter that can be quite chilly. We selected this Trustech Outdoor Patio Heater for our covered Lanai, hoping that it would help with the chill on those occasionally cooler nights and days.This outdoor Patio heater seemed to be a good fit with features such as overheat shut off protection, silent operation, remote control unit, a timer setting, and 3 heat settings of 500, 1000, and 1500 Watts.Out of the box, this device seems to be well constructed and has a nice appearance. Installation using the included wall mount kit was relatively simple and easy. I installed the unit about 7 feet high on a concrete wall using a ladder, drill, and the included anchors/screws in less than 30 minutes.This heater is also very easy to use. I first used it on a morning when temperatures were in the low to mid 60’s with a slight breeze. It is worth noting that this unit does not blow hot or warm air; instead, it radiates heat using infrared technology. After adjusting the unit to the correct angle and adjusting the heat setting to 1500W, we could feel the warmth from 2 to 8 feet from the wall it’s mounted on. The mid-level setting of 1000W still performed good, but the warmth range was reduced to 2 to 6 feet.This heater performed very well for our covered Lanai which has walls on 3 sides and is in a mild climate. However, on windy, cool days, heating was not sufficient. Because this unit does not blow hot or warm air, it may not be suitable for patios in colder parts of the country.
