instructions later. The picture quality of Blu-ray is very remarkable. The colors are vibrant and very realistic. The drive reproduces Blu-ray quality very accurately. I also used a DVD media drive. Again, the drive's performance was flawless. For the price on offer, the NOLYTH 5-in-1 external Blu-ray drive is a great purchase option. Product arrival: The Blu-ray drive arrived early from Revain and as usual in excellent condition. First Impression: The drive is solidly built, measuring 6 inches square and 1 inch high. It fits easily on a Mac mini. During operation, the drive does not get very hot and only emits a slight hum. Road noise isn't an issue, even though it's less than 2 feet from my chair in my case. The drive was packaged securely in a very nice carrying case with compartments for the drive itself, the interface cables that came with it, and the instruction manual. The double carry case is surprisingly well made. It is a foldable, zippered design made of durable black nylon coated material with a red zipper and wrist strap for carrying. A compartment is designed to store the drive with an elastic band and a soft fabric bag that perfectly protects the drive. The second compartment is versatile enough to hold interface cables, manuals, and media drives. The drive has an external button to open and close the media tray. The media compartment opens in front of the drive. The right side of the drive has independent TF and SD card slots. There are also two additional USB 3.0 ports. On the back of the device is an interface connector for connecting the drive to a Mac Mini. There are no ports on the left. Installation: The manufacturer provides a well-written installation guide that describes the listing and appearance of the product, product description, etc. Read the instructions for detailed installation information. • Make sure the USB 3.0 connector is plugged into your Mac. Using an unpowered USB 3.0 hub resulted in the Blu-ray not being recognized.• The disc did not contain Blu-ray software. Apple does not provide software for Blu-ray devices. In my experience, Macgo Blu-ray Player is the easiest software to use. The trial version is available for free. Upgrading to your purchased copy is a seamless process from the Macgo retail site or the Mac App Store.1. Start installing Macgo software on my Mac2. Installing the drive is very easy. Just plug in and get started. Connect the supplied interface cable to the USB 3.0 port on your Mac and to the interface port on the back of the device.3. Turn on your Mac. And enter Blu-ray media playback: 1. Place the disc in the disc tray and close the tray. For my version of OSX, the manufacturer recommends waiting about 20-30 seconds for the Mac to recognize the Blu-ray media. Alternatively, wait for the Blu-ray media icon to appear on your Mac desktop or in the Finder.2 sidebar. Launch the Blu-ray3 player software. Blu-ray will start automatically.4. How to Extract Blu-ray on Mac. Stop the player software. Drag the media icon from your desktop to the eject button on your Mac desktop.
