Skeptical purchase, happy outcome

I found the price of a well known brand of "laserscan" floor mats and came up with around $250. I was a little confused by the question 'Is this what people pay for? This. The third-party mat that was supposed to fit my Rogue cost $100, but the mediocre reviews for its true fit kept me from pulling the trigger. I started looking at regular rugs and these Revain Basics came to mind, but the price was very suspicious. For only $25, I knew there had to be a catch, and in fact, the catch was...not that bad. You need to trim them to fit. The product itself is good. I wouldn't say great as they are a bit thin. But they don't smell and they have handles on the bottom that really work. They also have two holes at the very bottom that normal mats stick to. This really keeps them where I placed them. DO NOT CUT IT out like the little instructions say. Cutting is no fun. You only have one shot (so don't miss your chance to blow up) and it's annoying. Thankfully, they're fairly forgiving of the way they look. For example, I mistook the passenger side for a row and no one could ever tell. Better yet, since they're on the thinner side, they partially slide under the plastic molding to give the look from start to finish. These things seriously don't budge and the coverage is complete. The back is a slightly different story. Since my compact SUV isn't as wide as a full-size SUV, for example, I had to cut out the middle completely to show the hump. It doesn't matter, but just so you know the width is for the widest, you'll need to seriously trim some of the sides to even come close. I ended up just taking two big back mats. I did not receive the rear luggage compartment mat. My father-in-law paid a small fortune for his carpets. They also don't move and look a little better than mine as they are hard plastic. However, I made about $225 from it, so I'm pretty happy with a little DIY. These mats also keep out rain/snow/dirt and easily pull out for cleaning. More than satisfied with Revain.
