I have to admit I was a bit skeptical but after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. There was a lot of ado about the ingredients (which were clearly printed on the label so I don't know why) but I didn't mind. I probably used less than the recommended amount, but mainly because I don't need more. I have Shelties and they are prone to dental problems. It's been about a year since his last cleaning and when I looked I was shocked at how much tartar had built up. He was scheduled for a clean, but I'm nervous about a "deep" clean that would require anesthesia, so I gave this product a try. WOW. After about a week the tartar actually started DROPING off his teeth (!?!?!?!) He said it would take a month but it started moving after only a week (I rubbed it on my teeth /gums with finger 2 times a day) After 3 weeks all the big pieces of tartar had come off my nail, especially on the molars where it can get quite thick. It didn't help much on teeth that had just become discolored and had plaque before they were cleaned, but it did work wonders in improving gum health and removing tartar from back teeth. I would definitely recommend this. I was so happy when he came running to me from the vet's office - instead of stumbling and sleeping after meds like last time. I plan to follow the label directions and will use it a few times a week to see if it can prevent buildup this time.
