Review on IRWIN SPEEDBOR Flute Drill 3041004: Unrivaled Speed and Precision for Effortless Drilling by Michael Caste

Works as intended

I bought this drill bit hoping to find a drill bit that would be better suited for drilling wire conduit holes through 2x4's. I was also hoping that the chips wouldn't get blown out on the other side as I also have to go through artificial beams and want to minimize the blow out. I've drilled about 50 holes so far and thought it was time for a review. 1) It drills holes slightly better than a shovel and definitely a lot faster. 2) The tip of the screw does exactly what it's supposed to do: as soon as you put it on the tree, it grabs the tree with light pressure and dives into it. So the end result is that I have to use a lot less force to drill for most holes. Hole. two pointers - once the screw breaks through to the other side you will need more effort to finish the hole. As it grabs and goes, you need to make sure you are properly aligned when starting the hole. It is much more difficult to correct the alignment initially with this attachment than with a standard putty attachment. 3) It's still blowing chips. no big difference. I solved my problem by drilling on both sides where I need fewer chips. 4) A lot of chips happen fast. I clean my holes as I drill to make sure I don't have any problems with my drill (and I don't). NET: I'm pretty damn happy with this beat and I definitely think it's worth the price.
