I didn't have high hopes but it was cheap and claimed to do it so I gave it a try. Our foundation was expanded so we were about 25 feet by 8 inches wide which was about a half inch to an inch high which was fine until we decided to finish the basement. I chose these two packs because I thought that together they would give me a good idea of how many grinding wheels of this type I would need. Well I've sanded the whole thing with just 1 sanding wheel and it still looks almost new, I really haven't noticed a significant difference in sanding efficiency from start to finish. Make sure to wear safety goggles as he will definitely throw away some parts at times. I also recommend that you keep it damp, and it's even not a bad idea to keep it damp with a dust mask. It's not fast, my project took just over 2.5 hours with a Ryobi 18v cordless sander, a high amp electric would probably run quicker. The result was a beautifully smooth surface that could easily be covered with a sub-floor.
